Lemon Basil Pesto

Why you will love it!

These bright green basil leaves (grown in my herb garden!) offer a nutrient power punch. Just 100 grams (about 5 cups) of basil leaves offer over 100% of your recommended daily intake of Vitamin A and over 500% of your recommended intake of Vitamin K. Vitamin K health benefits range from preventing blood clots to bone health and vitamin A helps support a healthy immune system, eye and skin health. The omega 3 fatty acids present in basil leaves contribute to its anti-inflammatory properties. If the nutrient profile isn’t enough to encourage you to try this recipe, the flavor profile will! Consider growing your own herbs. Growing basil is a simple and cost-effective way to amplify the taste of any dish!
